Going Local for Donations

Tags: , , , , , ,

While we are helping our clients edit and organize their homes, we are sourcing donation locations to drop off their no longer wanted items. When specific collections are involved, we will find specialty organizations; but when it’s clothing or other accessories, we like to find local organizations to support.

Below are two such organizations we use:

YWCA – Wilmette, IL

YWCA Shop for Good (Wilmette, IL)

The YWCA Shop for Good store uses 100% of its profits to help support YWCA’s domestic violence and economic empowerment programs for women across northeastern Cook County, IL. They accept for donation and sell new and gently used women’s clothing and accessories, which reduces waste and supports the local community. Win-win!

Timeless Treasures - Culver City, CA

Timeless Treasures Thrift Shop (Culver City, CA)

Timeless Treasures Thrift Shop sells an eclectic collection of clothing, books, DVDs, housewares & collectibles whose profits support the National Charity League of Los Angeles‘ Ticktocker Grant Program. They accept “like-new clothing and furniture.”

All my best,
Claudia
